The craze for ODI WC 2023 is getting bigger than ever as we can expect riveting contests. The peculiarity of this tournament is that India is the only host of the tournament, unlike previous tournaments. BCCI would be hoping that the team ends the drought of 10 years and wins the championship.
The tournament opener is between England & New Zealand as we can expect a cracker of a contest and we should not forget that the conditions are no longer alien for the overseas players due to IPL.

It would be interesting to see what would be the approach of Indian batters in WC 2023. We witnessed in the recently concluded Australia ODI Series as the middle-order batters weren’t able to dictate the terms against spinners in the middle-overs phase.
We can’t concentrate everything in South- BCCI Source
A source close to BCCI said that the board can’t just focus on the south and said that a total of 10 venues are there for the World Cup as earlier MP Shashi Tharoor was quite disappointed after the allocation of venues and not including Thiruvananthapuram, Ranchi & Mohali.
“There are matches in the south like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai- a total have to be 10 venues so can’t concentrate everything in South,” said a BCCI source

“It’s a long tournament, they could have spread the joy a little better. Thiruvananthapuram, Ranchi & Mohali should have been given an opportunity to hold a World Cup match. It is not necessary for any one venue to get 4-5 matches. This is a big mistake on the part of BCCI,” said Shashi Tharoor.
If Shashi Tharoor is so keen to get a match in Kerala….- BCCI Source
The BCCI source came up with a brilliant response to Shashi Tharoor’s idea and said that the stadium is not under the state association and pointed out why BCCI takes the headache of getting extra permissions.
“If Shashi Tharoor is so keen to get a match in Kerala can he first set the stadium under the control of the state association? Why is it under the control of ILFS and why should BCCI take the headache of getting extra permissions,” the BCCI source said.
