HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The race for the Western Athletic Conference regular season championship is a wild one so far this season for a variety of reasons.

First, Grand Canyon entered the season as the clear-cut favorite to win the conference crown. The Lopes had All-American shortstop Jacob Wilson, Homer Bush Jr., and others back in the saddle.
