It was followed by a narrow 3-run defeat to Rajasthan Royals at home. Needing 21 runs off the final over, Chennai Super Kings were on the verge of a famous win after MS Dhoni hit two back-to-back sixes. However, Sandeep Sharma defended 7 runs in the last 3 balls to guide the Royals to a thrilling win.
