Ravindra Jadeja-Shivam Dube Share Their Experience On Playing The Final Over

Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube stayed unbeaten for Chennai Super Kings and took them to their fifth IPL title win on Monday, May 29. The pair added an unbeaten 22-run stand after Mohit Sharma dismissed Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni in the 13th over.

The equation came down to 15 off the final over bowled by Mohit Sharma. He bowled really good first four deliveries but Jadeja kept his cool to hit 10 runs off the final two balls to win the game for CSK.

I Just Reacted And Luckily The Ball Found The Gap: Ravindra Jadeja

“It was the last over, so obviously there was pressure. The situation was such that we could not afford to miss even a single ball. Every ball was important. Dube was set and I thought he will connect one but unfortunately it did not happen,” Jadeja said in an IPL video.

“So, I thought if I get the strike on the last two balls I will swing it and try to hit straight, between long on and long off because the front boundary was a bit small compare to side boundaries. Luckily, the ball hit the middle of the bat. After that, I got a full toss on pads so I just had to react and luckily it went in the gap instead of hands” he further added.

I Was Positive That We Will Win The Match: Shivam Dube

“There was a lot of pressure but I thought to hit two big shots. The way the game was going, I thought I may not able to do it, but I was positive that we will win the match be it I hit or Jaddu bhai” said Dube.

This year was all about CSK’s comeback to win the title after finishing ninth on the points table in IPL 2022.
