Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) cricketer Suresh Raina lavished rich praise on all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for his heroics in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Gujarat Titans (GT). He said that the all-rounder did something only he could’ve done.
Chennai Super Kings thumped Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad to win the IPL 2023. They batted staggeringly well and bagged their 5th IPL Trophy to become the joint most successful team in the tournament.

As per the DLS, CSK were asked to chase 170 runs in 15 overs. The game went down the wire and the with MS Dhoni-led side needed 13 runs to chase the target in the final over. Mohit Sharma was given the responsibility to defend the target and he did to some extent.

Mohit Sharma bowled brilliant four balls as he executed his yorkers and conceded just 3 runs. With 10 runs needed off the last two balls, it was the MVP who stood tall and took his team home. Ravindra Jadeja smashed six on the first ball and then guided the ball to four to win the game for his side.
Suresh Raina said that he was delighted to see Ravindra Jadeja hitting the winning shot. He hailed the all-rounder for backing him after four great balls. He said:
“I am very happy that Ravindra Jadeja got to hit the winning shot. The way he has been wanting to help the team to wins, hitting a six and a four after amazing dot balls from Mohit Sharma.”

Suresh Raina further highlighted that MS Dhoni hugging Ravindra Jadeja was a massive moment and said that only he could’ve done what he did. He explained:
“I think this was sensational. You could see MS Dhoni hugging Jadeja in the dressing room. This is a massive moment, all of India was cheering them on. Ravindra Jadeja has done something only sir Ravi Jadeja would!” He concluded.
