Abhimanyu Easwaran along with the likes of Sarfaraz Khan and Priyank Panchal were among the deserving names that were snubbed from the Indian Test team that was named for the series against West Indies.
The series starts from July 12 as Team India returns to the cricket field a month later after their World Test Championship final loss against Australia.

While the BCCI has explained the reason behind the snub of Sarfaraz, Easwaran on his behalf said that there was no communication from BCCI on why they did not include him in the XI.
“No, I have not had any communication so far,” Easwaran told Sportstar when asked if anyone from BCCI has got in touch with him to speak about things that he needs to improve on.

Selection Is Something Not In My Hands: Abhimanyu Easwaran
When asked about any aspect of the game that he could be better at, he said that there will always be room for improvement even if he gets picked in the Indian team.
“That is there, irrespective of whether I get picked or not. I want to get better as a cricketer. I want to raise the bar every single day and get better. Selection is something which is not in my hands but improving every day is something I can work on to contribute more to my team, whichever team I play for, be it club, state, India A, East Zone or the Indian team. The thought process has always been that, I just want to focus on that. I just don’t want to give up. I just want to keep focusing on getting better,” he said.
Easwaran is all set to lead the East Zone in the Duleep Trophy which will be played in Bengaluru from June 28 to July 16. He will once again try to impress the selectors by scoring runs in the tournament for a place in the national side.
