CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — “Purple…Gold…Purple…Gold…” Silence.

The chants and how quickly they turned into lost echos are what pitcher Nick Parker remembered best about the 2022 Greenville Regional at East Carolina’s Clark-LeClair Stadium. 

A year later, he had an opportunity to recreate the experience Saturday night at a sold-out Disharoon Park thanks to the number of East Carolina fans that traveled up I-95 and then west on I-64. Pitching against ECU for the second regional in a row, Parker got to shut down the Pirate offense and their boisterous fans once more.
