Tim David, on Saturday (April 22), hit the second-longest six of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League during the recently-concluded game between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The six came in the 19th over when Mumbai Indians were chasing an improbable target of 215 runs to register their 4th consecutive win of the season. With 31 runs needed from the last two overs, Tim David began the over in a fine manner.

On the first ball bowled by his compatriot Nathan Ellis, he took a single. And on the second ball, he hit the gigantic six to keep his team’s hopes of winning the game alive. It was a low full-toss on the pads from Ellis and Tim David made the most of it. The right-handed batsman put his front leg in front before smashing the ball for a huge 114-meter six over the midwicket boundary.
It is the second biggest six of the ongoing season. The record is currently held by Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis who hit a 115-meter six during the game against Chennai Super Kings earlier this week.

Unfortunately for Tim David and Mumbai Indians, that was the last six of the match as the 5-time winners ended up losing the game by 13 runs. After collecting 15 runs from the 19th over, MI needed 16 runs from the final over bowled by Arshdeep Singh. However, they could only manage two and finished their innings on 201 for 6.
