Sai Sudharsan became a star performer in IPL 2023 final despite Gujarat Titans’ defeat in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Batting at one-down, the left-handed batsman shattered a marvelous 96-run knock-off 47 balls to take his team to a mammoth total of 214-4 in 20 overs.
During his knock, Sai Sudharsan stormed 6 sixes and 8 boundaries to set the Narendra Modi Stadium on fire. He started a little slow but later took up the pace while batting. He remained 4 runs short of his maiden IPL century, getting out for 96 through LBW by CSK pacer Matheesha Pathirana.

Leaning A Lot From Shubman Gill: Sai Sudharsan
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Sai Sudharsan said that he is learning a lot from teammate Shubman Gill. He said that after Gill got out, he wanted to take the game deeper while scoring enough runs on the board.
“Shubman is playing at his best and I’m learning a lot from him to be honest. Regarding this game, when Shubman got out, it was more of taking the game a little more deeper and even having a check on the scoreboard as well. I was trying to take the right chances and take the game deep as well,” said Sai Sudharsan.

Sudharsan also said that he was very grateful and happy with his own performance but also sad with the result as his team lost the match.
“Definitely, very happy and grateful to be able to contribute to the team. Seriously, I’m very happy and a little bit sad also. The result was not in our side,” he said
“Last game, I felt a lot of pressure, and came to a realization that being more calmer is much better and I have the ability to do it. I felt a bit more calmer this game,” the left-hander futher added.
Sai Sudharsan was also benched in some games midway through the season. However, when GT lost the Qualifier 1 match to CSK in playoffs, he was picked in the playing XI to take the No. 3 spot in Qualifier 2. He scored a good knock of 47 runs against MI in Qualifier 2.
Overall, Sudharsan has had a magnificent season in IPL 2023. Playing 8 games, he mustered 362 runs at an outstanding average of 51.71 and a strike rate of 141+. He also slammed 3 half-centuries in the season.
