The Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma praised the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Risku Singh for his stunning knock against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, April 9. Rinku Singh guided the Knight Riders to their second consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
Rinku Singh smashed five consecutive sixes off Yash Dayal when the team needed 28 runs off the last five balls of the match. Rinku scored just 9 runs off 14 deliveries before starting the acceleration in the last two overs. The left-handed batter smashed six and four against the left-arm pacer Josh Little in the penultimate over of the match.

The Indian all-format skipper Rohit Sharma took to Twitter to appreciate Rinku Singh’s performance. Rohit described Rinku’s knock as an unbelievable innings and said that the IPL provides an opportunity for talented players.
“IPL is truly a place where talent meets opportunity. Unbelievable innings, Rinku! And tough luck Yash, one to learn from,” Rohit Sharma wrote on his official Twitter handle.

Rinku Singh scored 48 runs off 21 balls with the help of one boundary and six maximums. The southpaw helped the team chase the mammoth total of 205 runs. Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana shared a brilliant 100-run partnership. Venkatesh smashed a magnificent knock of 83 runs off 40 balls, including eight fours and five sixes.
Rinku Singh played a similar innings in last year’s IPL match against Lucknow Supergiant. The 25-year-old smashed 40 runs off just 15 balls in the high-scoring match. He almost guided the team to chase down the target of 211 runs, but they fell 2 runs short after he was dismissed in the second last ball of the last over of the match.
The Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer will next be seen in action against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Eden Garden in Kolkata on Friday, April 4. Following the win against the Gujart Titans, the Nitish Rana-led team moved into second place in the 10-team points table with 4 points.
