BCCI & PCB can be seen in a verbal spat over Asia Cup 2023. BCCI secretary & ACC President Jay Shah has made it clear that Asia Cup 2023 won’t be staged in Pakistan and the tournament is assumed to be staged in Sri Lanka (*neutral venue). Jay Shah made it clear that not traveling to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023 is Indian Government’s decision.

It looks unlikely that the tournament would be played in Pakistan. According to sources, it is believed that the stakeholders & sponsors aren’t interested to stage the event in Pakistan citing security issues.

Pakistan haven’t hosted Asia Cup since 2008 when Sri Lanka won the championship against all odds. PCB Chairman Najam Sethi had proposed a hybrid model and they wanted a few matches to be played in Pakistan, which was reportedly rejected by ACC members.
