The former India vice-captain is currently in England as he continues his recovery from the thigh injury that he sustained while fielding during the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Following the mishap, he had to travel to the United Kingdom for a surgery. Recently, he also delivered an update on his fitness. Taking to social media platforms, the India opener posted a photo of himself walking in crutches on the streets of London. He has been in the UK since then and it would not be wrong to say that he has also managed to avoid the spotlight while being away from the hustle and bustle of IPL.

Prior to the injury, KL Rahul was facing severe criticism for his poor performances with the bat for Team India as well as the Lucknow Super Giants. And on Saturday, he faced the wrath of the fans once again after a video went viral. The video showed KL Rahul allegedly visiting a strip club in London.

Another video in which KL Rahul can be seen with his wife Athiya Shetty at the nightclub also started doing the rounds on social media. Since then, several fans have taken shots at the couple. Most of the fans were expressing their displeasure over KL Rahul visiting a nightclub while recovering from the injury.

And after facing severe criticism on social media, Athiya Shetty finally broke her silence on Saturday evening. The Bollywood actress took to her Instagram account to post a story where she hit back at those who were targeting her and her husband. She stated that it was not a strip club but a regular place.
“I usually choose to be silent and not react, but sometimes it’s important to stand up for yourself. Rahul, I and our friends went out to a regular place, as one does,” wrote Athiya Shetty.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul has been ruled out of the upcoming ICC World Test Championship final against Australia due to an injury. Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has replaced him in the India squad.
