Premier Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is slowly and steadily recovering from the injury he received from his near-fatal accident on December 31 last year. He has been sharing videos of his recovery across his social media handles.

The southpaw has missed all international cricket for India since the injury and is also not included in the series against West Indies. KS Bharat was retained in the squad for the Test matches while Sanju Samson was included in the ODI squad along with Ishan Kishan who was included in both squads.

Pant missed the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia. His absence was dearly felt in the batting lineup for India as their batters failed to chase the 444-run target in the final against India.

Pant is also set to miss the series against West Indies and the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 tournament. There is no update on when exactly Pant will be back in the Indian team but the management is looking for his return along with other key players in the ICC World Cup 2023.

The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are also recovering from their respective injuries along with Pant. The timely return of all these players will be a major boost for India’s chances in the World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman has recently changed his Instagram bio. He updated it with the caption Second D.O.B 05/01/2023. The bio is a hint of his successful surgery post coping up with the major accident which has for now become a stumbling block in his international career.
