Mumbai Indians (MI) thumped Punjab Kings (PBKS). MI won the match by 6 wickets and chased down the mammoth target of 215 runs with 7 balls left. Ishan Kishan played a splendid knock of 75 runs in 41 balls as he struck 7 fours & 4 sixes. Ishan Kishan was quite fearless in his approach and wasn’t afraid of any bowler.

Ishan Kishan along with Suryakumar Yadav whacked the bowlers around the park. There was no respite for the bowlers as all the variations were proving to be ineffective. Arshdeep Singh who was the wrecker-in-chief against MI at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai was taken to the cleaners. Arshdeep Singh gave away 66 runs in his 3.5 overs and took 1 wicket. Perhaps, Shikhar Dhawan should have brought on Liam Livingstone for an over in the middle overs phase.

It seemed as if Liam Livingstone rediscovered his mojo as he scored 66 runs in 31 balls and struck 8 fours and 2 sixes.

The wicket was good for batting- Ishan Kishan

During the post-match presentation, Ishan Kishan stated that the wicket was quite batting-friendly and pointed out that the message from the dugout was to watch the ball & hit. Ishan Kishan spoke about fitness and said that it is very important.

“The wicket was too good for batting, I kept for 20 overs and knew the wicket was good. If it is in my arc, I will go for it. Rishi Dhawan was swinging the ball, I thought of stepping out as the keeper wasn’t near,” said Ishan Kishan.

“The message was to watch the ball and hit. I think it doesn’t matter much when you are chasing 215 (whether the fielder is there or not in the areas you try and hit big shots) Last game we did well and finished in the last over. I try to finish it as soon as possible,” he stated.

“I think fitness is very important. We keep on training hard. We also try to work out during the match. Credit goes to mom’s food as it is important to eat well,” he added.
