Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan picked the batter who impressed her the most from the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). Sara Ali Khan named Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli as her ‘hatke’ player of the tournament ahead of Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Shubman Gill.
Shubman Gill won the Orange Cap and the Most Valuable Player of the Season awards in the IPL. The right-handed batter scored 890 runs in 17 matches with an average of 59.33 and a strike rate of 157.80. The 23-year-old smashed three centuries, which was the most by any batter in the tournament.
‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ stars Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan attended a nail-biting final match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 29. Sara was asked about her experience watching the IPL final match live on Star Sports after the match.
“I have never seen a live match before. So, the first time you watch a match live and you see MS Dhoni, then what more can you ask for,” Sara Ali Khan told Star Sports.

Sara named Virat Kohli as her ‘hatke’ batter when she was asked to pick the batter who impressed her most in the tournament. She mentioned Gill and Virat’s hundreds during the match between GT and RCB in Bengaluru on May 21.
“The ‘Hatke’ time for me was when Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill both made hundreds in the same match. But Virat Kohli got out after scoring really well. It was a superb match to watch. Both innings were great. That was quite ‘hatke’,” Sara said.
Virat Kohli was one of the six batters who scored more than 600 runs in the tournament. Kohli scored 639 runs in the tournament with an impressive average of 53.25 and a strike rate of 139.82. The 34-year-old smashed two hundred and six half-centuries in the marquee event.
Shubman Gill will be next seen in action when India take on Australia in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final 2023 at the Oval in London starting on June 7. Gill will be hoping to continue his form in the long format of the game to end India’s ICC trophy drought.
