The veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane silenced all the outside noise by playing a terrific knock of 89 runs in 129 balls and struck 11 fours and 1 six. It seemed as if Ajinkya Rahane was batting on a different surface despite there being uneven bounce on the surface.

The mighty Aussies had a splendid Day 3 of the WTC final and now are in a state of ascendancy. Australia have a lead of 293 runs with 6 wickets in hand and would be aiming to post a target in excess of 375 runs.

Don’t think the finger injury will affect the batting- Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane was having an interaction with the commentary panel after the end of Day 3 and spoke about the blow to his finger and said that the injury won’t affect the batting.

Ajinkya Rahane pointed out that the side wanted to score 320-330 while batting first. Ajinkya Rahane felt that the Aussies are slightly ahead in the match. Ajinkya Rahane was quite optimistic that India can make a comeback in the match.

“Painful but quite manageable (blow to his finger). Don’t think it’ll affect batting. Happy with the way I batted. Had a good today. We were looking to get 320-330 but overall we had a good day,” said Ajinkya Rahane.

“Bowling wise we bowled well. Everyone chipped in. That was a really good catch. We all know he’s a really good fielder. Has a big reach. Australia slightly ahead in the game. For us it’s important to be in the moment, play session by session,”  he stated.

“First one hour will be crucial tomorrow. We know funny things can happen. Jadeja bowled really well, footmarks helped him against the left-hander. Still feel wicket will help seam bowlers,” he added.
