Mark Adair was bowling the 8th over and on the second ball of the over he delivered a length ball outside off stump that jagged in and hit Waseem, who was trying to play a defensive stroke, on the gloves. Waseem scored 45 runs off 32 deliveries, including 6 fours and 2 sixes as the United Arab Emirates got bowled out for 211, handing over Ireland a huge 138-run win.
