Sikandar Raza has been in the highlights ever since the ICC World Cup Qualifiers started. Be with bat, ball, or field, the all-rounder has set the stage on fire and has been playing a key role in taking his side to the main tournament in India, starting from 5th October. 

In Zimbabwe’s recent game against Oman, Sikandar Raza caught the eyeball of many with his sensational fielding performance. The stupendous effort changed the game in his side’s favor and helped them to inch one step closer to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

While chasing the target of 332 runs, Oman were going great guns with Kashyap Prajapati holding the fort with his blistering century. But something staggering was needed to tilt the game and Sikandar Raza did exactly that. The batter tried to slog the ball but miscued it in the air.

Sikandar Raza charged on back from mid-on and had his eyes set on the ball. He managed to reach the ball and caught the ball with his fingertips after covering so much ground running back.

ICC World Cup Qualifiers: Zimbabwe clinches the game against Oman by 14 runs 

Asked to bat first, skipper Sean Williams yet again displayed his class and smashed another century. Sikandar Raza too played a vital hand and scored 42 whereas L Jongwe (43*) finished the innings on high as Zimbabwe posted a total of 332 runs on the board. 

Defending the target, Zimbabwe kept chipping in with the wickets at regular intervals. They came under pressure as Kashyap Prajapati smashed their bowlers all over the park. Tendai Chatara and Blessing Muzarabani took three wickets each whereas Richard Ngarva and Sikandar Raza combined to pick three wickets as Zimbabwe restricted Oman to 318 runs.
