In a high-scoring battle, Pakistan won with 10 balls to spare because of Fakhar’s knock of 17 boundaries and six big sixes.

This was the left-hander’s second century in as many April contests, following his 117 off 114 balls in the first game at the same venue, which helped Pakistan chase down 289.

Fakhar led the run-chase from the start and was only removed in the 43rd over when Pakistan was well on its way to chasing down the winning score. For his heroics, he was named Player of the Match.

  • Prabath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka)

Prabath Jayasuriya achieved the milestone faster than any other spinner in the history of the sport, taking 50 wickets in just seven Test matches.

The left-arm spinner hit the milestone in the second Test of the series when he caught Paul Stirling, the centurion from the first innings, on the final day of the contest. Stirling had taken 17 wickets in the two-match Test series against Ireland in Galle.
In his seventh Test game, Jayasuriya became the first player to take 50 Test wickets, breaking the previous record held by spinner Alf Valentine.

As the joint-second fastest person overall to reach this milestone, he joined the ranks of Vernon Philander of South Africa and Tom Richardson of England.

  • Mark Chapman (New Zealand)

In the opening game of the series, a crushing defeat in Lahore, he led New Zealand in scoring with 34 off 27 balls. The left-handed batsman then added an unbeaten 65 off 40 balls with four fours and four sixes even though New Zealand also lost the second game by 38 runs.

Chapman increased his intensity in the remaining two games of the series, scoring his first T20I century as New Zealand chased down 194 in the fifth and decisive match to tie the series.
