India’s star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin believes that India vs Pakistan clash in ODI WC 2023 would be a blockbuster. Ravichandran Ashwin was quite sure that the game would be equally balanced.

Ravichandran Ashwin hasn’t played ODI cricket since the series against South Africa in 2022. Ashwin was a part of the 2021 and 2022 T20 WC sides.

It looks unlikely that Ravichandran Ashwin would get a chance in the ODI format as the side already have got the services of Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Ravichandran Ashwin wasn’t given a chance in the WTC 2021-23 final against Australia. Ashwin now would be aiming for a place in the Indian playing 11 against West Indies Test match commencing from 12th July 2023.

Ravichandran Ashwin was seen speaking on his YouTube channel and said that Pakistan also have got a quality seam attack.

Ravichandran Ashwin was quite optimistic that Afghanistan will create upsets in the tournament.

“The last few games between India and Pakistan have been extraordinary. I think we can expect another blockbuster India-Pakistan game. It is going to be an equally balanced game because Pakistan also have a quality seam attack,” said Ravichandran Ashwin.

“I feel Afghanistan might challenge a few teams this year. Last time, during 2011 World Cup, India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals. Of course, Bangladesh is a very good side,” he stated.

“But I feel Afghanistan will create a few upsets this year. They played really well during the last World Cup too. But in these conditions, you cannot really run through their side with fast bowling. We all know their spin strength with Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, and Zakir Khan.” he added.
