Skipper Rohit Sharma will open the batting and his batting partner is expected to be Shubman Gill. He needs to have a good tournament to come back into form. The batting-friendly pitches in Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be just suitable for him.
Gill has had a fabulous run in white-ball cricket in 2023. He scored ODI and T20I centuries to go with a Test century last year. The youngster scored 890 runs in the IPL to win the Orange Cap earlier this year. He has been the consistent batter for India at the top of the order. The duo will need to give India a good start in the tournament.
