Former Indian batter Sourav Ganguly heaped praise on Australia’s star batter David Warner. After being asked to bat first by India, the Aussies were dealt with a massive blow as Usman Khawaja was dismissed cheaply but that didn’t stop David Warner from playing his natural game.

David Warner was looking in sublime touch as the batter was seen playing a lot of innovative shots and was making the use of crease smartly. Just at the stroke of lunch, David Warner lost his wicket and scored 43 runs in 60 balls and struck 8 fours.

David Warner does not take much pressure and is always smiling- Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly was having an interaction with Star Sports (*Broadcasters) and stated that Warner would be quite relieved after playing a fine knock against India and pointed out that scoring 25 tons is never easy. Sourav Ganguly said that Umesh Yadav bowled short to Steve Smith which helped the batter a lot.

“David Warner came in the WTC Final under a little bit of pressure. There were talks that he has got a couple of Test matches or three matches before they take him off the team. But he has been a champion batter for the Australian team. He has played more than 100 Test matches, scored more than 20 Test hundreds (25) and I thought he batted exceptionally well,” said Sourav Ganguly.

“Umesh bowled a little short to him and that has been his strength. He is a tremendous cutter and puller and I think he will be happy with his innings and that will give him a lot of confidence for the long season ahead. I think he looked very good in his short innings,” he stated.

“David Warner is a little different. He is a happy go lucky person, does not take much pressure, he is always smiling. It is a big summer for him,” he added.
