Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player Tushar Deshpande has revealed what captain MS Dhoni told all the bowlers before taking the field against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the two side’s most recent match on April 17.

CSK’s batters had done the job, as they put up a total of 226 while batting first. Despite the big total, almost no target is big enough in the batter’s heaven which is Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium.

“MS just said to the bowlers we’ve spoken a lot about our plans, now it is about execution. I’m a big believer of staying in the present. In T20 cricket, even if one over comes here and there, I have three more overs to come back and make an impact. I just try to stay in the moment and keep the belief in myself,” he said.

Tushar Deshpande helped his team score their third victory in 5 matches, as CSK comfortably sits 3rd on the points table. They are tied on points with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Gujarat Titans (GT), and Punjab Kings (PBKS), but have the second-best Net Run rate (NRR) in this bunch.

Tushar Deshpande reveals some of his plans while bowling against RCB

Tushar Deshpande went on to reveal some of the aforementioned plans, telling how CSK tried to keep RCB batters restricted to the longer side boundaries, as there was much parity between the boundary distances across the field, he said –

“I stuck to the plans and was able to execute them. Today, one side was big and the other was really small. So trying to keep the batters score to the bigger side was the plan.”

The Mumbai-based bowler has also shown belief in himself, claiming that he tries to not think too far into the future and stay in the present.
