Former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble was impressed by veterans making a comeback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He was in awe of Chennai Super Kings batter Ajinkya Rahan batting with a strike rate of around 200.
Ajinkya Rahane has been a surprise package in the ongoing IPL 2023. The CSK batter has turned the tables and has looked like one of the most promising batters in the league so far with his timing being the highlight of his batting.

Ajinkya Rahane in the 6 innings so far in the league has scored 224 runs at an average of 44.80. What has been enthralling has been his strike rate of 189.93. He also has scored 2 half-centuries with the best of an unbeaten 71 that came against KKR.

Anil Kumble was impressed with the strike rate Ajinkya Rahane is scoring runs at. He said that the batter has been liberated and it’s good to see him making a comeback. Speaking on Jio Cinema, he said:
“It’s nice to see players that are old do well. Some of them I have played with and some of them I have coached. Good to see all of them make a comeback and do so well. Ajinkya has been brilliant this season and has been scoring at 200 strike rate and he has been liberated so to speak by CSK.”

Amit Mishra too had been impressive this season. The leg-spinner has chipped in with the wickets at crucial junctures to take his team to a comfortable position. He had taken 6 wickets in 6 innings so far.
Anil Kumble also lauded Amit Mishra for his heroics in the league and said that not only his bowling but he has been spot on with his fielding as well. He added:
“It was great to see Mishi (Amit Mishra) do well. He has been fielding and catching well, which is wonderful to see. And it is great to see Amit Mishra looking to do what he is capable of. Great to see all of them going strong in the IPL.”
CSK will be next seen in action when they will take on MI on 6th May whereas LSG will take on GT on 7th May.
