Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Ambati Rayudu has dropped a shocker ahead of the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad. He decided to hang up his boots after the game and thanked his fans for all the support.
Ambati Rayudu has been a significant contributor to the IPL. Having played for two champions teams in Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, the right-hander has been a significant contributor in the league and has piled up a huge amount of runs.

Ambati Rayudu made his debut in the IPL for Mumbai Indians in 2010 and was an integral part of the team till 2017. He won three trophies with them and was the vital cog in the wheel for them over the years. The batter was then roped in by Chennai Super Kings in 2018.
His best came in that season as he piled up 602 runs in that innings, following which he was back in the Indian team. Ambati Rayudu also scored his maiden century in the IPL that season and helped CSK win. After that till 2023, he played a crucial role for the team and won two titles with them.

Taking to his Twitter account, Ambati Rayudu talked about his journey and said that he has enjoyed playing in the IPL. He also hilariously said that he won’t take his retirement back this time. He said:
“2 great teams mi nd csk,204 matches,14 seasons,11 playoffs,8 finals,5 trophies.hopefully 6th tonight. It’s been quite a journey. I have decided that tonight’s final is going to be my last game in the Ipl.i truly hav enjoyed playing this great tournament.Thank u all. No u turn.”

CSK vs GT: Ambati Rayudu’s Stats in the IPL
Ambati Rayudu played 203 matches in the 14 seasons that he has played in the league. He scored 4329 runs at an average of around 30 and a strike rate of 127.29. Also, he notched up 22 half-centuries and one century in his career.
Ambati Rayudu in IPL 2023 has been not at his best. He has managed just 139 runs in 15 innings. But with the final against GT being his last game, he would be hoping to end his career on high.
