England skipper Ben Stokes is battling hard with his tailenders to get his team over the line in the second Test at Lord’s. They were set a target of 371 by Australia and are still a fair distance away from getting there.
It is Stokes who stands between an England win and an Australian win at Lord’s. Despite of wickets falling at the other end, Stokes brought up his 13th Test ton and perhaps the most important one as captain yet.

Facing Cameron Green in the 56th over of the innings, Stokes belted him for a four outside off in the first ball of the over. He then took on the charge and hit him for a six over deep mid-wicket. Green bowled another bouncer at him targeting the body of Stokes the next ball. The southpaw top-edged it over fine leg for a six with Mitchell Starc dropping a catch at the boundary line to give Stokes a life.

Ben Stokes completed a hat-trick of sixes as he pulled a bouncer from Green towards the deep square on the leg side. Stokes went from 82 to 100 with those three sixes as he scored 24 runs from the Green over just at the stroke of lunch.
Lunch was called with England still trailing by 128 runs with four wickets to spare. It was Stokes who took the charge with lunch in sight and the move paid off. The over from Cameron Gree gave England the momentum they needed heading into the break.
