SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Stanford had it lined up just the way it wanted.
Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year Quinn Mathews took the ball on full rest Friday night with a chance to pitch the Cardinal into the conference tournament championship. Then it could hand the ball to Joey Dixon on full rest Saturday for a shot at back-to-back Pac-12 Tournament titles. The top arms in the bullpen were rested, so Drew Dowd and Ryan Bruno could be extended, if needed.
