5. The Eagles’ offensive line will neutralize Chris Jones
Jones is arguably the best interior defensive lineman in the league not named Aaron Donald. Unfortunately for Kansas City’s defense, Jones is going up against arguably the best offensive lineman in the league in Super Bowl 57.
Veteran Jason Kelce will see a lot of time matched up against Jones on the interior from his center spot. He’ll get plenty of assistance from guards Landon Dickerson and Isaac Seumalo. That will stop Jones from penetrating the interior of the line when he’s deployed at tackle.
Kansas City also likes to move Jones out to defensive end on obvious passing downs. That’s when Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailita will be forced to contend with his combination of power and speed on the outside. They’ve got just enough talent to hold up with some timely assistance from tight ends and running backs in pass protection. The attention heaped on Jones will give his teammates some one-on-one opportunities but he’s not going to dominate this game in the way the Chiefs need him to.
