Rosters for the World Baseball Classic have recently been announced, and the Dodgers are represented well across the board of rosters participating in the tournament.
Back in 2017 when the last WBC was played (yes, it’s been that long, I had to look it up as well), the Dodgers had four participants from the 40-man. Adrian Gonzalez and Alex Verdugo represented Mexico, Enrique Hernandez played for Puerto Rico, and Rob Segedin took the field for Italy.
This time around there are 11 Dodgers that were announced, including some of their biggest names.
The first workouts for WBC commits will take place on February 13, and position players will show up on February 16. The tournament will start on March 8 and the final will be played on March 21.
The schedule can be found at the official site.
The thing that makes all this relevant and interesting is that the players themselves seem excited for this, as almost all the best players in baseball have committed and teams have actually had to prevent players from taking part due to injury or other concerns more than anything else.
I mean it beats Spring Training games, that’s for sure.
